Nice to hear from you. I am especially fond on the 454 since I was an engineer at IH working on the 454, 574 in the late 60's. I love to look at the things that I designed and see how well they held up (or not). It is fun to think back on all the discussions with the lab and test people about how the various parts of this machine would hold up in the field. As a result of extensive testing, all in all things worked out pretty good- it is still a great utility tractor some 40 years later! I keep in touch with the guy (Bill Schubert) who was the main test engineer at that time. He has a 674 and we have a few good laughs thinking back about all of the struggles!
